This works great once you get it working. I'm pretty good with computers but have spent too much time setting them up for it. If you don't care about security, you can use it out of the box, but I didn't want to do that when traveling. As mentioned earlier, you need to go to the admin menu and enable WPA2 for this device. I found that some advanced defaults are incompatible with my other hardware. For example, the default device only works with other "N" wireless devices instead of working backwards with "B", "G", and "N". You must read the instructions on the supplied CD carefully to understand this. The device comes with 2009 firmware. Updating was problematic as even the CD doesn't have enough information on how to do it. Luckily the phone support was informed. For example, during a firmware update, the device's mode switch must be in the "AP" position. This part is not in the manual. I also had to go to the Network Connections/IP/TCP menu on my PC and enter the IP and subnet mask values provided by tech support. You may be well versed in such things, but I know I've had other devices that made firmware updates easier than this one. Finally, after updating the firmware, tech support said that I should go back to the admin menu and select "restore factory settings" for the update to take effect. Excellent. Now I have to go back and change some things for the second time. Get my drift?
