Review on ✏️ Prismacolor 24192 Premier Turquoise Graphite Sketching Pencils, Medium Lead, Pack of 12 by Lori Aguirre

My set has no quality issues

I have been using Prismacolor pencils for over 10 years. I read the reviews and was very surprised at how bad some of them are. The box I received does not have a label to tell if mine was made in the US or Mexico. They have a four-digit code and others suspect they are made in Mexico. There is definitely a noticeable difference in hues between each pen. The contrast between the letters B and H is obviously the most striking. The contrast between the individual shades of the letter B is the least noticeable, they are the most similar and difficult to distinguish. The contrast in hue between each hue of H is more noticeable than the contrast between each hue of B. I would like to see more contrast in B. I bought a Prismacolor Ebony pencil for the darker shade. (See photos) I will say that I have some old, careful and very used Prismacolor Turquoise pencils and they have a smoother, clean finish. These new ones are a bit grainier. That being said, I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read the reviews. I had no trouble sharpening pencils. My lead wasn't off-center and didn't include the missing neck's bladder pockets. The wood of my pencils doesn't splinter when I sharpen them. I bought my daughter a cheaper set of pencils at a craft store called Artist's Loft. I can say that Prismacolor pencils are better than this brand. The Prismacolor lead is smoother than these pencils and easier to erase. I have not tried some of the other pencils listed in other reviews. I'll definitely be checking out other brands to see how they compare. Faber-Castell isn't that much more expensive, so if they're much better than Prismacolor I'll update my review.
