Review on Phanteks Aluminum Ultimate Computer PH ES813P_SOR by Jerome Turner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great design, questionable workmanship

Advantages: - Lots of space for everything. I bought it to build with E-ATX and 4 GPUs and it works fine so far. Most other full ATX options I've looked at don't have as much space under the 4th GPU as they do in this one. Aesthetics. I wanted a white case and this was one of two options (the other has a fractal design) - Comes with a dust cover for all fan intakes. I switched from the Corsair Air 540 which is a dust magnet (but way cheaper). The Bad: - As another reviewer mentioned, the threads on my backplate are drilled slightly off-center. This makes opening/closing the sidebar a frustrating experience. The first time I see this is the >$100 case and this one costs >$200. Rubber seals for screws are also cheap. Other technical defects. For example, for some reason, my bottom intake filter bowl won't install securely, and the front fan intake panel has a small gap when closed.

Pros
  • Removable front and top covers for easy installation of cooling components and easy removal of the dust filter. Additional removable dust filters are located on the underside (2 pieces) and on the side wall (2 pieces).
Cons
  • Some disadvantages
