I bought this 25" Revillusion electric fireplace to replace my empty wood-burning fireplace. I was considering a gas log, but the idea of heat loss up the chimney was not acceptable. After looking at some very good closed gas systems which were excellent the 5000.00 forbidden cost is too high so after spending hours searching the internet reading various options I saw an advert for Dimplex products I had one very nice fireplace screen framed by sliding doors and decided to use it, I measured from the bottom of the screen and then bought some bricks from Home Depot, painted them black and then installed the Revillusion over the bricks Thus, the open door device coped, making the heater more reliable, effective in getting heated air into my common room bring to. Finally, I added black volcanic rock to the bottom of the fireplace and installed a fixture that makes the sound of burning coals. With the screen closed, it's so realistic! for less than 500.00.
