I figured this would be the perfect solution for cutting very straight railings, so I threw the dice at the $30 item. The build quality is great and it feels like it's designed but doesn't perform very well. (1.) You have to tighten it to hold it in place and secure it with extra screws, which is a lot of work when you have multiple racks. (2.) There is too much clearance for the saber saw blade in the guide groove of the saw blade, so it still wobbles and the cut is crooked. (3.) If the saw blade catches in the guide, it will cut and further decrease the chance of a second try. (4.) Although I said this would work on 4x4 and 4x6, I disagree as there is not enough room to insert a blade when cutting a 4x6 rack. The bottom line is, just screw the guide plate to the stand and hold the saw like an ax as you can. It doesn't cost $30
