I've been living in my new home for about a year and this is my first experience with a water heater. This kit contains everything needed to descale/flush the water heater according to the instruction manual. I watched some videos online and decided to give it a try. I first went to HD/Lowe's to buy accessories, but the pumps in the store were too big for this purpose, so I ordered a set. However, I bought a 5 gallon bucket because it comes with a 3.5 gallon bucket and the video says 5 gallons. I bought vinegar from Costco and got to work. The kit comes with easy to follow instructions and pretty much matches the online DIY videos. All in all, it's a simple process, but it can be a bit messy if you're not careful. I now have everything I need for my annual descaling except vinegar or a chemical descaler. Either way, the process is basically the same.
