I have a 2HP compressor with a built in hose that is printed with a 1/4" ID. The 1/4" size was too small and the 5/16" size was also too small but I was able to pull a live sh1# out of the clamp and get a gasket. My experience with this type of fitting and hose is that the "notches" are slightly larger than the ID and the notches in between are the same as the ID.This is quality product and customer support is timely.Look for a size larger than 5/16" if your tube ID is 1/4" to ensure proper fit.
