I didn't know there was such a thing as fryer inserts until they came up on my profile. I was wondering what might help with routine plate cleaning in my fryer. I use them every time I use my air fryer. They are easy to clean - I just toss them in hot soapy water in the sink and they clean up easily. I think you could clean them under warm running water. They clean better if you clean them right away (while they're still hot), but if you don't, they'll clean with no problem. After repeated use, they still look like new. They improve the cooking surface and are easy to drain thanks to the drainage holes. I measured the inner panel and ordered an 8 inch size that fits well. All in all a great purchase and great quality.
