I connected the Samsung Note 8 power adapter to the jack. I then connected my Samsung Note 8 to the connector. I then connected the Samsung Galaxy S4 battery charger (a small white case just for charging the battery) to the connector closest to the socket. I came back about 15 minutes later, took the Ableconn device and burned my hand (very easily). I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't been there for an hour. I guess my house burned down. I emailed Ableconn support and after several exchanges in which I provided the requested information, their final comment was: (and I copy and paste it) USBC-4APD may not be compatible with mobile phones , which may use proprietary protocols on USB -CI. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you, Ableconn Customer Service. I'm reporting this to the Product Safety Commission and various PC magazines and product review sites. As a former Navy avionics technician, I realize they didn't incorporate a current limiter or circuit breaker. I don't think they thought it was important to prevent fires.
