We have a Waste King L-8000 disposal container and this is the first replacement drain cap we have received. I was a bit nervous about the purchase as I saw some people complain that it wasn't suitable for their disposal but it fit perfectly. A lot of negative reviews comment that the food doesn't sink, which is true when I don't push it through, especially with smaller pieces. I don't really have a problem with that, as this feature also prevents cutlery and other unwanted items from accidentally falling. amount of water and I don't have this problem at all. I usually turn on the water, put things in and either press them down or take the lid off for a moment, rinse everything down there, then put the lid back on and turn on the disposer. Due to the precise fit of the baffles, the noise generated by the disposer is minimized, and with the splash guard installed it is very quiet, even when watching TV in the room it can still be heard. For 3 years the fender that originally came with the kit was completely burned and I threw it away. I had more problems with the original fender than this one, very happy with the new one. The original splash guard for some reason had a horrible problem with ground food getting stuck between the metal ring on the sink and the splash guard, so bad I wouldn't have forgotten to take the splash guard out and rinse it after each dump session, sometimes that got Food bad and we got bad smells until I cleaned it. I didn't have these problems with the fender. I read reviews that the protection doesn't last very long so I bought two but so far no problems at all. The only negative I had is the cork itself - it fits snugly and I had trouble getting the water to drain completely, I usually have to fiddle with it and it takes more than one try if I want to keep the water in the sink for , say, half an hour or more.
