I didn't do much research before purchasing, the stand is pretty solid. I have an 8lb gaming laptop and it holds it without too much trouble (it hangs a bit on the back, it's a Dell g7 RTX), my HP Pavilion laptop is smaller and sits on it really well. Some ab type, waist 42, I still have a good 2-3 inches of room, and it's so easy to get comfy and hoist this thing over my stomach so I can type without a lap brace. My suggestions to the manufacturer/seller/anyone who can speak to the manufacturer/designer/whatever. The metal palm rest can be a bit uncomfortable. Can you suggest a model with detachable gel stand? The mouse pad is good but could be a bit firmer. Eventually it will break. I hope you have a replacement. All in all a great product. Would probably buy again if I needed another one
