Just received the new Proxicast Ultra Low Profile MIMO 3G/4G/LTE omnidirectional antenna with 2.5dBi gain. There are several points to check. 1) I live in rural America. My permanent ISP, Slow-Windstream, rarely hits 3Mbps download speeds. Downloads rarely even reach 1 Mbps. 2) To survive, I use Verizon on a GL.iNet Spitz (GL-X750) 4G LTE OpenWrt Router, AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi, Modem/Router. On our beach, this device goes from 30 to 60 Mbps. There's nothing wrong with Verizon's modem/router solution for people living in the hotspots. However: At home, the same modem/router only draws 5-7 Mbit/s unless it is in an open window frame. In this case, it's still only pulling 7 to 9 Mbps with an occasional spike at 12. Now. Enter Proxicast Ultra Low Profile MIMO 3G/4G/LTE 2.5dBi Omnidirectional Antenna. That's what happens. After a long search for the perfect spot, I finally placed the antenna in the same window frame that best suits the GL-X750. The current download speed now ranges from 7 to 14 Mbps. From time to time the speed jumped up to 22 Mbit/s. ------------- Advantages. 1) This device regularly doubles my download speed and almost triples my download speed from 1.5-2 to 2-5 Mbps. 2) Cost wise I think it's a cheap upgrade for a slow internet problem that works pretty well. minuses. 1) The device is extremely difficult to place. After researching and testing locations all over the roof of my house and even in my backyard, it turned out that the same window frame that works best for the modem/router also works best for this antenna. just works best. The problem is that the device even requires it to be positioned at the exact spot in the frame. This makes finding the best connection a very time consuming and difficult situation. 2) The price is a little high for the return value. Getting a double plus in a very slow internet environment is something to brag about. However, once I start spending more than $50 on a product, I might double the price and get something more powerful. Conclusion. I haven't decided yet. Proxicast Ultra Low Profile MIMO 3G/4G/LTE helped me alleviate my internet problems. However, I think that doubling my investment could help achieve the same RV reception through the X770 modem router's built-in antennas. I will give this current solution a few days. It can get better over time. But if I still only see a doubling in speed, I'll most likely send it back and upgrade to something more powerful. However, for those trying to move from 20Mbps to 40Mbps, this device can be an ideal low-cost solution. However, note that I cannot confirm that a relative increase in speed will maintain the same improvement factor.
