Knipex is a great gift!
I have been using Knipex wire cutters for over 20 years. Light weight, sharp and hard edges. My brother electrified his so I bought him a new set. Works perfectly. Clean scissors, no dangling wires or threads. They easily cut coaxial cable, Cat 5e cable and risers, speaker wire, shipping tape and small screws up to 1/8 inch in size. They also cut large bolts, but can damage blades or deform handles. I saw my brother disassemble them, so I know. I love Knipex and would recommend it as standard equipment in most tool boxes. This is a great gift idea for someone you know who works with wires and cables.
