This is currently my green cheeked kennel's favorite toy. Before I got it I was concerned that it might be too big or too complicated for him, but it isn't. It came out slightly different than the photo but I prefer that I have the differences clear so he can see when the treat is in and he has a large leather thong on the ring under the barrel that he uses to grab the barrel and turns to look at himself. When I first introduced the toy, I barely closed the drawer so my GCC could open it very easily. It opened almost at the slightest blow. Then I started closing it and turning it more and more into the locking position, so now it has to work a lot harder to open. I love this feature because I can put a treat in it in the morning and know he has to work through the day before opening it. Other food toys can get boring when GCC has to sort them out very quickly and rotate them with other toys to keep things interesting. This toy is very sturdy for those who like to actively chew, has well-placed "handles" for grasping beaks and legs, and can gradually become more difficult by snapping harder. I would definitely recommend this toy as a great toy for small/medium sized parrots.
