Wow. This extension ladder sure is sturdy!What I love most about it is how beefy and stupid proof the locking mechanisms are. They click into place with a decisive, loud, "clack" so you have zero doubt it's been locked into position. Since proper locking is crucial for safety, prioritizing this feature is a smart move.I do find it takes a fair bit of muscle to push or pull (respectively) the locking mechanisms. They operate smoothly, they're just designed with a lot of tension, obviously for safety. Once you do unlock the mechanism the ladder slides and opens very easily.I would not call this ladder lightweight by any stretch of the imagination. I'm not sure what other metals are in "aluminum alloy" besides aluminum but this thing is a beast! I will be preferring my shorter and much lighter weight aluminum ladder over this one unless I need the extra height or a staggered sides, for example to reach an attic space above a flight of stairs.Overall I love how heavy duty this thing is. It feels high quality and I would trust my life on it. I wish it were lighter weight and a little easier for my small hands to operate, but I'm not sure how feasible that is without sacrificing sturdiness, which is more important.So it's 5 stars from me--it works, it's safe, it's sturdy, the black and red colors are easy on the eyes and I feel totally badass using it.
