I would like to point out that I knew I would not get a quality product at this price; However, they are mediocre at best. The wooden handles are untreated, which allows for the possibility of splitting. At the ends of the wooden handles, the metal dowels are not attached to the wood. The metal is pressed into the wood for a loose fit. The metal shaft itself works as intended; However, I find I'd rather have one quality ice ax than three inferior ones.
