Review on Monroe SC2928 Magnum Steering Damper by Joe Drew

The 27 year old factory steering damper on my Jeep YJ was no longer doing its job so I replaced it with this one. It is much harder than the old worn one! Driving is a lot more fun and I don't have to fight my way through every pothole on a bad road with the steering wheel. The hardest part was removing the old tapered bolt from the tie rod. But once that was removed installing this new steering damper was easy and I put the jeep back together in 15-20 minutes. I used the hardware that came with it and it was great that they were made available. So far, so good! As I mentioned earlier the steering is much better now and compared to the old one it feels a lot more powerful than the original. It's not necessarily a sign of quality either, but I love the fact that this case is stamped 'Made in the USA' as well as the box it comes in. It's also nice that it looks like an OEM, as opposed to a lot of crazy aftermarkets. Jeep parts available.
