My 2003 Honda CRV started to have a check engine light. After looking at it I realized I needed a new gas cap. I bought the regular one for about $6. The check engine light went out after about 3 rides, but the suction was so strong I could barely open the lid when I needed fuel. At first I didn't want to spend that much on a replacement part, but I was also afraid of being stuck at a gas station late at night without being able to remove the cap, so I bought one. The new cover came just as they announced it. I put it on when I had a tank of gas. At first the check engine light came on again, but after three rides it went out and wouldn't come on even with low fuel, which was not the case with the original gas cap. I have no problem removing this gas cap; it fits just like the original. If you get it as a replacement gas cap and don't have valve issues (Auto Zone has a code reader and it verifies codes for free), be sure to take a few rides to check. The light goes out. The car computer has to go through several cycles.
