Summary: I ordered this for my home tool box. The primary application is to expand copper (or other soft metal tubing) so that the crimped end accepts tubing of the same diameter, resulting in the need for one less ferrule and therefore one less solder joint. Notes: The surface finish of this tool is most important and this one is fairly smooth. Recommendations: Before crimping any copper tube, it is highly recommended to deburr the inside and outside edges, both for safety reasons (to avoid cutting yourself with a sharp edge) and to reduce the chance of the crimping tool getting stuck in the tube. Another good practice would be to use some sort of lubricant that also needs to be removed before soldering the joint. Keep the end of the tool, e.g. a chisel, this end is likely to grow like a mushroom and should be sharpened for safety. Pros: Decent fit and finish; hardened steel material. Disadvantages: none. Verdict: $9, 5 stars.
