Durable, heat treated alloy steel construction for a long-lasting use. Just insert swaging tool into softer copper, brass or aluminum tubing and strike with hammer. Only one solder joint needed.

Simple but effective

This will expand the copper tube to fit over another piece. Save the sleeve. Takes some practice, but works great. The challenge is to hold the tube in place without damaging it. I used a piece of wood with a rod slightly smaller than the pipe and a vise. This actually works with any softer pipe material. I've had success using a heat gun on a plastic tube.

Special tool for plumbers but also for many other uses

Summary: I ordered this for my home tool box. The primary application is to expand copper (or other soft metal tubing) so that the crimped end accepts tubing of the same diameter, resulting in the need for one less ferrule and therefore one less solder joint. Notes: The surface finish of this tool is most important and this one is fairly smooth. Recommendations: Before crimping any copper tube, it is highly recommended to deburr the inside and outside edges, both for safety reasons (to avoid…
