Original factory ball joint. Subaru has used the same lower ball joint design for about 20 years. My Forester has 120,000 miles and the factory ball joints are still fine. So why replace them, you ask. Well, I have to remove the front arms to replace the stock bushings with polyurethane bushings, so while everything is being disassembled I might as well install new ball joints. They don't include any hardware (locknut, cotter pin, tie bolt) but you can get them at your local dealer for about $5 per side.
