Perfect fit for my 68 and I used to have one.
Fits my size 68 perfectly and as soon as I got it it started up quicker than it has in years. I also replaced the battery cables and ring terminals on all the smaller cables while I was there. Voltage problems probably damaged your magnet in the first place. So before you complain about a durability issue, you should do the same. Also check your battery. If the solenoid does not receive enough power, the internal components of the solenoid will be damaged and possibly wired together. This is a common problem with these old Mustangs.
