I bought these shorts to walk the dog in the summer and I needed a place for my phone. I saw that they had an insole and hoped it would be comfortable. For me that's not the case and that robs the shorts of their lightness and freedom. The lining is more like spandex cycling shorts than the lingerie-style athletic lining commonly found on women's shorts. After two socks I cut out the lining and am now a big fan of these shorts. I wish they were a little cheaper. I'm 5ft 5in, 140lbs and the medium fits better than the small.
