I bought my kids 2 sets of microscopes at a department store sale a while back. However, they showed absolutely no interest in using the microscopes and the babies ended up taking them apart and throwing them under their toys. I stumbled across this portable microscope and thought it was the coolest microscope I've ever seen. The microscope is held like a pistol and opens the LED screen like a video camera. It charges with any micro USB cable, but is included in the box and comes with a 32GB microSD card. The microscope will not work without a microSD card installed. Includes wrist strap and cloth pouch. The focus dial is on the side of the microscope, and the light dial is where your finger is when you hold it like a gun. My first experiment was with a microscope bag. On the screen it looks like diamonds or blue crystals - so incredibly beautiful! I've noticed that my hand shakes a little when bringing the microscope to the specimen, so there's a screw mount just below the light controller to attach the mount to a tripod. I wish this microscope came with a tripod to complete the set. It has many other cool features like a black and white effect which I don't think is necessary as the color is best for viewing under a microscope and there is an image rotation effect without having to manually move or rotate the microscope. Press the mode button to switch between picture and video, and press the camera button to either capture or take a photo. I have no idea what zoom I'm using, like in a traditional microscope that is 20x, 40x, etc. And luckily I think it doesn't matter anymore with this cool electric microscope that looks like a video camera! I want them to start using this in my kids' schools. This would be a very effective and visual way of learning. Now my kids are sure to impress their teachers with this microscope video recording feature!
