Does exactly what I need

This DC/DC converter does exactly what I bought it for. I'm keeping my solar power/ham radio setup at 12v. I recently bought a Flashfish solar array that doesn't charge from my 12v battery (charging from 12v to 12v doesn't work) or my existing solar charge controller was, as it lags behind, a larger 12 volt battery and a 12 volt solar panel connected to a charge controller. This device allows me to connect a 15V output limited to 4A (protection). So the Flashfish device is now charging at a comfortable 50 watts from my 12 volt battery. By measuring the voltage drop during operation I was able to set this unit to the appropriate 29VDC to run from my 12V battery and was planning to buy some much smaller boost converters for these tubes as a backup. The device is excellent, but you will want to make some improvements to it. I installed it in a project box after cutting out the back of the box (for critical airflow). I then bent two corner brackets from Home Depot ninety degrees to forty-five degrees and used them to mount the project box on my workbench face up at a forty-five degree angle. As an output, I installed an internal (in the case of a project) on/off switch and a barrel connector on the chassis. The device connects directly to my 12v battery coming out the back and remembers your settings when you cycle it (I added an on/off switch to save power when it's on is not used). Now it's really nice to have a battery. The PSU is now powered so I can choose any low voltage and current setting if needed.
