This product is exactly as described. In terms of granularity I would say the gray side is around 800 and the white side is around 1200-1500. It is ideal for EDC base. I sharpened my Spyderco Sage (S30V) razor sharp in about 15 minutes. Keep in mind that using a smaller stone was an adjustment for me compared to others. Use of water stones. A 6k brick gives me a far from polished edge, but in my experience 6k looks cool but isn't as useful as a 1200-1500 edge. So go ahead and buy. You will be satisfied if you are looking for a hunting or hiking sharpener. If you're looking for an extremely polished edge, keep looking elsewhere.
