I have an older version of the same Molex product and the metal used to make the pressure contacts is either a different type of steel or not treated to maintain its rigidity. The contacts have been bent since I took them out of the box, probably because the instrument was shipped in a plastic box in a bubble envelope. I was able to straighten them without much effort, but when I compare this new one to the original, there is a definite difference in the quality of the materials. Let's just say the old ones wouldn't deform plastically - they would be more elastic. I haven't pressed many pins on it yet, but it seems to be working as intended. I just wanted a better quality branded tool than cheap aftermarket tools.
