Despite what I read beforehand, I decided to buy a monitor. Luckily for me, it was pretty much a plug and play experience. Everything was magical with the included Thunderbolt cable from my MBP to the monitor. Basically I now use the back of the monitor as a docking station and run the keyboard etc from the back. What I haven't figured out yet is if I can daisy chain another monitor to this one so I have a connector for all of this in my MBP. Monitor quality is high - video quality is amazing. Colors need to be adjusted as the white balance goes a little crazy if you delay the adjustment assigned. However, it's great. Assembly is so-so, as others have mentioned. The plastic body (which suits me as it's just the edge that the image rests around) and the heavy monitor are supported by a thin, very sturdy, balanced silver metal stand. It works, but that wide monitor shakes every time you touch the hidden button below, sneeze, or move the keyboard.
