Firstly as other reviews have mentioned it was poorly packaged with no padding around the item so there could be some damage to the top. I don't know if the binding around the lid handle was caused by shipping or just poor riveting technique of the handle to the lid. I have used it several times. The first was to "smoke" a piece of salmon. The recipe calls for the "wet method," which essentially boils the fish. If I want to cook fish, I know how to do it. The next dish I tried was rustic ribs. I leveled the bottom of the mold according to the instructions. The ribs covered the entire rack and when it was done the fat and sauce crystallized at the bottom of the unfoiled pan and wouldn't pull off. Incidentally, I used smoke on my ceramic top electric range, so the temperature control was fine, although it required constant tweaking.
