Review on Garmin Approach G80: Premium GPS Golf Handheld + Integrated Launch Monitor by Matt Venable

This. Is. Slow. That. Is. awkward.

This car is pretty good for distance to the green (back, center, front) anywhere near the fairway. For everything else.it. is. slow. Many of the other "features" advertised in the product description are not as practical. The screen is not bright enough or large enough to determine the distance to obstacles, trees, etc. According to the product description this is the case, but in practice this is not the case. And this is. Slow. Tapping the screen and refreshing the screen display takes a noticeably long time. So that this is no longer annoying, the processor has to update at least ten times faster. This allows only one number to be entered per hole. Sometimes the machine doesn't realize you've drilled a previous hole and still wants to tell you the distance to the cup. In this case, you must start play on the next hole, walk down the fairway, stop, note the score of the previous hole, and continue. For example, a scorecard requires multiple touches on the screen to access it, and even then it will be distorted if a finger slips or a small mental error occurs. If you want GPS to speed up the game. This isn't the car for you. Did I mention how annoying a slow processor is? Did I mention how slow the machine boots up? This machine is slow. I usually wait a few generations to adopt new electronic devices because the first ones never lived up to expectations. I've been waiting to buy a golf GPS for about 20 years. I think it's a waste of money.
