Review on Food Grade Mineral Oil for Cutting Boards: Safe and Made in the USA - Ideal for Countertops and Butcher Blocks by Kate Gagnon

Good product. Highly recommended.

A nice chopping board broke a while ago through carelessness and experience has taught me that I have to oil it from time to time. I have used this product on all of my wooden kitchenware, as well as large and medium chopping boards. I soaked them all overnight according to directions and placed them on a large baking sheet to avoid messing up the countertop. Laying them on a towel will allow the oil to soak in before the wood can absorb it. The next morning all the dishes and boards looked brand new. Oil is absorbed evenly on all surfaces. No extraneous stains. Best of all, there were no odors or food contamination afterwards - as advertised. The only drawback was the instructions. The instructions say "use the back of the knife" which confused me at first as it actually suggests a spine (the opposite of a cutting edge - see photo). I think they meant to use a flat bladed knife which works great. (see photo) The flat surface of a large carving knife is best for cutting boards as it gets the job done quickly and evenly. A kitchen brush is very suitable for wooden utensils. Any brush will do. Overall the oil is as advertised and I will recommend this product to friends. I will also become a regular customer.
