Sometimes better than new!
The cap fits perfectly, just what I was hoping for. Now "minus" the mounting/swivel rod is cut by machine from a blank, during the cutting process the ends of the rod are slightly deformed, which makes it difficult to insert through the central guide (plastic) on the base of the console. The original rod can be reused if it hasn't been damaged, the ends are beveled for easy insertion, or the ends of a new rod can be beveled, maybe the manufacturer needs to get it right!
