Review on Freud Industrial Ripping Blade LM74R010 by Charles Lewellen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Do not cut on glue line, less than 1/8 inch

This blade is heavy and appears to be of good quality. I am usually very satisfied with Freud products. The finish on the rip cuts leaves swirls of leaves and I get the same or better cut with my general purpose blade (Ridge Carbide). The saw is well adjusted. I ended up ripping the edges anyway and then planed or joined. There's no reason to have a glue line cutter if you still need to take the extra steps. I didn't know the kerf was less than .125 when I bought it, which prevents me from using the scale directly on the fence, which is perfect for a 1/8" kerf blade. That last part is on me, it was advertised as having a .110 kerf, but why? Again, additional work is required to cut to final width (additional measurements and adjustments). Unfortunately, this won't be the blade I'll reach for when making the records it was bought for.
