Great Timer - Kitchen & Dining

I bought two of these timers in March 2010. Two and a half years later, I'm still using both. I've since bought a few other timers for some flashy feature or bigger numbers or whatever, and I keep coming back to the CDN timers. Pros: - Big numbers that are easy to see from across the room. - Alarm that's loud enough to hear from the next room via the furnace exhaust fan, but isn't overly uncomfortable. - Count up and count down. I probably use the Count Up feature as much as I use the Count Down feature. For example, if I'm cooking something on the stove, I might want to have an idea of how long I'll have it there, but I don't have a predetermined time that I want to track. It also makes the timer useful for a variety of other applications (e.g. sports) where you want to time something. - Has a magnet for attaching to metal surfaces, plus a small stand for placing on a flat surface and an eyelet for hanging. It's surprising how handy this flexibility is.- Excellent battery life. Two and a half years later with almost daily use and I still have the original batteries in both. Don't worry about no on-off switch. - Durable. I'm a clumsy guy so I dropped these a lot and they didn't get damaged at all. I also used one at the gym for a few months and kept it in my gym bag and it survived. My only complaint is that it only goes up to 100 minutes (technically 99 minutes 59 seconds). There are roasts and things like that that take hours. That's a pretty minor complaint, as I rarely have to set anything longer than 100 minutes and my stove has a timer that clocks in for hours when I do.
