Review on 🦎 Picquic 49105 STUBBY Multi-Bit Screwdriver: Compact Tool with Six Bits in Gecko Green Opaque by Corey Harris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does not match the design quality of other Piquic drivers.

Bought this screwdriver to complete my set as a small screwdriver. I wish I hadn't. They're not as comfortable as the longer versions, which I like. With Plus 7 or Dash I was able to switch around a bit with one hand. Not with that. You need two hands, two eyes and sometimes a pair of pliers to get something out of the shaft. It's no longer in my tool bag. The bits are of good quality but lack a quick release, making their longer brethren easier to manage. The cavities that hold the bits are so long compared to the 1 inch length of the bits that the locking rings won't catch them. They come loose easily and rattle in the handle. The captive bit is extended so far that it can be gripped easily, the lack of a groove makes it difficult to push out of the side holes. This causes the bits to become uncomfortable and fall off. Ironically, the Picquic drivers were designed to do just that. 2 bits fell out (didn't find P2) and had to buy another screwdriver to finish the job. Dash was too long. The holding portion of the stubby handle is too long, or the bits are too short, or both. I would shorten the shank and lengthen the bits just enough to add a quick release nut. The Taiwanese workshop that makes Pikki bits should be able to do this.

Pros
  • Rare earth magnet holds the bit firmly in the shaft
Cons
  • Some imperfections
