Received these perfect can bags the day before I was expecting and it was amazing to me! I really needed her. You get three legs that screw into the top ring. There are tiny nuts on the legs that you can take off and not have to re-tighten if you don't want to, but I keep them and re-tighten after use so they don't get lost. You will also receive 2 (TWO) Jelly Strainer Bags which are PERFECT for making nut or coconut milk. LOVE that there is no top to lose. You slide the bag (slightly) over the metal ring, then rotate the bag vertically in the middle, then the top of the bag together with the weight of what you are milking or straining will prevent it from detaching from the metal ring. With two bags, you can continue sifting the next item without stopping and emptying the first one! I make a lot of nut milk and coconut milk and it works BETTER than gauze or other nut milk bags I've tried. There are no solids in my milk and the bag doesn't absorb moisture like gauze, so I get more milk for my job. The ring is approximately 6 1/4 inches in diameter. The pack size is flat. not on a 9" x 9" ring. And the legs are 11" tall. Once assembled, spread three (3) legs evenly spaced over the bowl (it has hooks on the bottom of the legs to hold it in place) and empty whatever you are about to strain into a bowl and then leave I naturally drain it as much as possible. Then (if it's hot I let it cool or use a silicon pad to protect my hands) I CAREFULLY remove the pouch from the ring and squeeze out as much juice or milk as possible WITHOUT putting too much pressure on the pouch to get as much product as possible! The bags are VERY easy to clean. They have no stains and there don't seem to be any problems with sticking solids. I hand wash them because they are so quick and light. However, they are NOT organic cotton. The bags are made of nylon. It's a solid STEEL frame IF you put on the right size bowl and keep feet the same distance apart Put it on too big bowl or put feet up it will fall down. The best way to install it is to slightly pull (down) the pocket with your fingers in the middle just to test it to make sure you installed it stably. When you start pouring in what you strain, start SLOWLY, just in case. It would be awful to lose all your delicious work just because you didn't check that you set the colander correctly! To make coconut milk, I use 1 3/4 cups of shredded coconut and 2 cups of boiling water. . I add them to a FAST closed blender. (Don't cover completely or the steam will make it explode all over the place!) I also use a kitchen towel to CAREFULLY and lightly cover the hole in the top of the blender. Then I mix coconut and water for 60 SECONDS. Pour it into the mesh bag already installed and let it drain. Then I CAREFULLY remove the bag from the ring and use the silicone pads to squeeze out as much coconut milk as possible WITHOUT putting too much pressure on the bag. I get ALMOST 2 cups of coconut milk from this. Much more so than when I used gauze! And it's easier to clean up afterwards.
