Easy installation on Doji. I think 1969-2015

1999 Dodge Ram 1500. Installation was a breeze. They recommend two people, me too if you're like me and work to the point of failure every day. I did it myself which was doable. Took me about 20 minutes. The hardest part was getting it off the ground over my head. My shoulders didn't want that. Bypassing the spare tire was also difficult. It would have been faster if I had removed the spare tire and put it out of the way. In addition, it is easy to install on second generation RAM. I have 99 half a ton. All the holes were already pre-drilled so I just put in the plates and carriage bolts, laid the hitch on the chest, aligned, fitted the nut on one corner, then aligned the other side and fitted the nut on the opposite side. corner to straighten it. I then hand tightened the remaining bolts, then took a torque wrench and torqued them first to 80lb/ft and then to 110lb/ft, which was the hardest part with my arthritis. It was impossible to go straight to 110 pounds. I was sure I would break the bolt. So I chose 80 first and then tightened them all up to 110. I felt it was safer. The base plates are very strong, as are the screws. You are 10.9. Not your typical automotive 8-point bolt. Package. Well actually it sucked, two thin pieces of cardboard wrapped around the main stock and textured tape holding the packing list, screws and instructions right to the receiver opening and a shipping label slapped on metal. Arrived GREAT with no scratches. The stickers came off easily as the paint is very glossy and not porous at all. They came off in one piece and left no trace. I'm not complaining too much because there wasn't a bulky box to cut open just to throw away. The price was the best for me. I trust the curt brand because I've only had positive experiences with curt products on every truck I own. In my experience the color lasts longer than the tie brand.
