Bullshit, BAD WiFi! - Specifications -

I think that more than 3000 reviews does not mean that the product is good. It just makes it harder to get quality product information. I wasn't really expecting to get 2Gbps (2 x 1Gbps) through the devices, I was hoping to get at least around 500Mbps. All of the people talking about running internet speed tests have to have a lot of components under test to really tell you that the problem is with the powerline hardware (although it probably is). When running a speed test, check your computer's network adapter, network hardware, router/modem, and your ISP. Any of these devices can pose a problem. Again, not providing any information before installing Powerline doesn't help much. As for me, I couldn't get more than 270Mbps with powerline devices. In the image with computers, the computer goes to one squad on the left and the laptop goes to the second squad on the right. They are about 8 feet apart and plugged into the same circuit. But for reference, I connected two powerline boxes together and got the same maximum throughput of 270Mbps. In the second picture with iperf and Notepad, I first connected the two computers directly and programmed the IP addresses. Did an iperf test between two computers at an average speed of about 950Mbps and showed that both have 1Gigabit interfaces and can transfer data at that speed. This is displayed in the TOP prompt windows, and next to it are 10 tests with results. I then connected two computers to the powerline boxes and ran the 10 iperf tests shown in the BOTTOM prompt windows and the 10 test results displayed next to it. Clearly, these devices cannot function as advertised anywhere else. Also, they get very hot. I will send them back. I'm not sure if I should try Powerline again from another manufacturer or just call it all crap, stick with WiFi/Mesh/Hardwire and put an end to it.
