I started using Meross smart plugs a few months ago and I love them. When I decided to buy a smart garage door controller I was happy to know that Meross sells it. I wasn't very happy with the $80 price tag, which seems excessive, but I wanted the reliability that I've enjoyed with other Meross products, so I bought this product anyway. Adding it to my existing Meross app was incredibly easy. After using it for 2 days the open and close notifications got a bit annoying but it was very easy to turn them off. I like the NOT CLOSED DOOR notification. That's how I know when I've forgotten to close the door after a certain amount of time. And I love opening the app and making sure the door is closed without having to go back to my house, call my neighbor, or go to the garage. My ONLY complaint would be that the poor instructions made the physical installation more difficult than it was. must be. First, my garage door was not on their garage door compatibility list and the drop test described below did not match the contacts available on my 20 year old LyftMaster/Chamberlain opener. Meross should add a note to say if your opener has a manual button hardwired to the opener to use a jumper between those pins on the opener to determine compatibility. I also had a problem with the gap when installing magnetic sensors. The cryptically translated instructions basically said they should be installed within 1 1/4 of the top of the door. My sectional door lifts first before it begins to open which does not leave enough clearance between the top of the door and the wired portion of the sensor that is mounted on the garage wall above the door. I've spent a lot of time looking for an alternate location for sensors but couldn't find one. Finally, I placed the sensors on top of the door so that when the door is opened or closed, there is never less than 1/4 inch of clearance between the door and the sensor. When closed, the sensors were about 1 1/2 inches apart. Luckily it was close enough and it worked flawlessly. Installation issues aside, I am very happy with this purchase and with all the Meross products I have purchased to date.
