Won't last: Power accessories

Didn't experience a single season or the previous one. We made him about two months before he stopped working, so I figured he was three years old anyway. I replaced it with a newer model and it lasted two weeks. Two. Two weeks before his death. After extensive troubleshooting I trace the problem to poor heat dissipation, this thing cooks up in place on the van. The simplest test you can do is to remove the battery from the circuit and see if the converter is running and powering the DC elements and no it was deader when Elvis didn't even try the fan which is always on when it is included. Operating room. I believe it heats up too quickly and kills itself by destroying something inside that can't be reached without moving the rivets on the case. That's it, money wasted and never again. I ordered a Progressive Dynamics with a huge finned heatsink and fan and got consistently high reviews.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • I won't say anything
