I'm new to the Raspberry Pi form factor, although I've been a long-time Unix user/programmer of many varieties. I bought this to act as a Pi-Hole server to handle DNS requests from trackers (Pi-Hole is an open source web-wide ad and tracker blocker for your home or office). It's perfect for the job - easy to set up, runs without refrigeration, and runs headless in a UPS equipment closet. It's perfect for such a single purpose, install and forget about those apps. I can always browse it over ssh or over the web to maintain it if needed. A much better solution than a dedicated Windows or Mac Mini box with higher running costs. It's so cheap you can afford two for one reservation.
