Review on 🚲 RAD Cycle Products Pro Bicycle Adjustable Repair Stand: 66 lbs/30 kg Holding Capacity for Easy Home or Shop Maintenance by Junrey Jewel

The molded plastic crank arm will slip, dropping the bike and eventually failing.

Like other reviewers, my stand was not assembled properly as the legs were attached at the back, presumably to fit in the shipping carton. Luckily it was a 5 minute fix. What you can't fix is a poorly designed tension adjustment that keeps the gripper arm attached to the extension tube (horizontal/vertical connection at top of post). Inside the pivot is a piece of molded plastic (pictured) that's obviously designed to fit a metal extension tube, but even with my lightweight (15-20lb) aluminum frames, it's not strong enough to carry the bike with me to support It runs. This (turning cranks, tightening bolts, etc.) means this $50 stand will repeatedly drop your bike onto your garage's concrete floor without warning before the plastic tube eventually ruptures, turning everything into an expensive, clumsy paperweight . Should have bought the real deal from Park Tool. At triple the price it could still save me from damaging my forks, cranks and frame. Too bad there isn't an affordable alternative for the do-it-yourselfer. The last photo is an example of the damage that occurs when an aluminum frame falls to the ground and then tips over and falls onto the stand. This is irreparable damage to a discontinued frame that cannot be replaced.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not automatic
