I think they could be used in cars or fresh water boats but in my marine boat they corrode and fail miserably. All of my electronics started failing until I discovered they were faulty switches. They look like any other crusher on the market, but their quality is not suitable for the marine environment. I have not tested them in other environments. If you use them in saltwater, look for other brands that are made for tougher conditions. Either way, it's unwise to save a few bucks on electronics.
