Promising product (with modifications on my part). The fence is bolted with 4 bolts to a metal bracket covering a steel channel bolted firmly from the base to the table. 3 things I don't like about the product. First, there is no screw mechanism to move the fence in any direction; Their tiny spin-off is a technical joke. They offer micro-adjustment, which is borderline crap. First you need to loosen the typical Kreg compression clamp, which is on the opposite side (like on a desktop). Second, you need to grab the middle and end it with a metal clip. At this point you need to coordinate the movement of your hand with a tiny scale (which you have calibrated). I found it difficult. I'd rather have a long screw mechanism (with a wheel on the end to turn the screw) to move this thing. The second point is the clamp. I just don't like such mechanisms. I don't raise the fence, but it needs to be perfectly adjusted with various nylon screws that center the gizmo; Otherwise, the metal bracket will always rotate. The next thing I don't like is the screws used to attach the front wooden panels that are mounted to the fence. I need to glue pan head screws to the two front panels so I can turn the handles on the back without a screwdriver. The last thing I don't like is the Flemsey vacuum port. I use 2.5" flexible hose, which naturally compresses when the vacuum is turned on, sometimes causing the connector to come loose from the guard. Connecting that flexible hose to the guard is another hurdle to accurate guard placement, but I don't do it. I don't know how to avoid using a hose like this. Does Creg expect the hose to be disconnected before each guard adjustment? Apparently yes. In my opinion Craig engineers should build a long screw mechanism to move the fence along the channel. somehow solve these problems. I have many Kreg products that I generally like. Kreg tech support is great. I'm not sure about their shipping department as the first countertop that was sent to me didn't have any protection on the most vulnerable part of the entire table. The second one was sent to me free of charge within a week.
