YOU SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL THAN WITH A "REGULAR" KNIFE OF ITS SIZE, ESPECIALLY UNTIL YOU ARE PREPARED. I HAVE SEVERAL SPYDERCO SHORT BLADE FOLDING KNIVES FOR WORK (INCLUDING THE SALTWATER KNIVES), I'VE USED THEM TO COOK SOME OF THEM AND LOVE IT. THIS LONG, SPYDERCO-STYLE, serrated BLADE IS EVEN BETTER FOR COOKING FRUITS, VEGETABLES, FILLETS OF FISH, MEAT AND EVEN CHICKEN.
