I bought them for a 3.8 liter fryer. The size is perfect for making cornbread and with a little manipulation the result is perfect. The rim on the pans makes them closer to nine inches than the eight inches that would fit in a fryer basket. I curve the lip with my fingers, then press about an inch into the sides in four places. Now the pan looks like a shamrock. It fits well in the basket, the inset slots provide grip for retrieval, and the cornbread has an interesting shape. Some fryers work without a basket, in which case these pans fit perfectly in a large tub without any modifications. I highly recommend these pans.
