Review on ARES 70016 Damaged Extractor Removes by Mario Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly hard!

This thing does its job surprisingly well. I didn't have high expectations for those cheap internet brands like Ares, Tekton etc, but this thing is solid and handles a massive amount of torque. I'm a diesel technician and first used this puller to remove 12mm studs on a salt truck. These salt trucks are so rusted and worn the bolts are practically welded on. I used this tool in combination with a long 1/2 inch ratchet with a 2 foot bolt remover. It was a BEAR to pull them out, but this tool never slipped. The harder you pull, the more impressed I was. Be aware that this will severely damage the threads of the bolt you're pulling out, so I wouldn't use it to reuse the bolt. It's a little big, so it needs some clearance to use it. Don't rely on it to work in tight spaces or where the bolt is within 3/4" of an obstruction. It also caused a lot of wear and tear. on the internals which are gripping but I've been using it and it ever since still works fine so if I need to replace it hopefully it's easy to work out the warranty with the company as they claim to have a lifetime warranty (but I've found some companies just talk - check out Gray Pneumatic) .don't respect it, I'll probably buy it again anyway.n in this price range.
