Easy to use and I feel safe

I had an apartment fire and my smoke detectors were out of order. Luckily I was right there and saw the fire in time to get everyone out of the house. One night, shortly after the fire, I couldn't sleep and went to Revane to find a smoke detector. I think I've seen them all. And I found this one. I bought it because it seemed to have all the features I needed. I really like how you can put the batteries in without taking the whole thing apart. I've always hated it. And sometimes I let it run too long because I didn't want to disassemble everything and put in new batteries. The bonus is that this is an AA or AAA battery (I don't recall offhand). In any case, I always have new ones at home, not 9 volts. Because I have to climb stairs, I get nervous when changing the batteries in my smoke alarms. If I don't have to disassemble it on the stairs, I'm more inclined to change the batteries regularly. If you're looking for something lightweight and non-intimidating (e.g. for the elderly), this might work well for your purposes. I really liked what he said too. When we tested him, he ordered me to evacuate in a very pleasantly loud voice! The voice sounds urgent enough that I actually pay attention. I put it right outside my bedroom door so when I sleep I hear it and leave. After surviving a fire, you are very knowledgeable and concerned about the safety of your home. I never want to go through that again. And I was very lucky that I woke up and saw the fire. The smoke detector makes me feel a lot safer in my home. And that's the goal, to be safer. It was worth it.
