Review on Dorman 924-608 Hazard Warning Switch for Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile Models - Black by Scott Morris

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It took two to finally get it right and it works in 1995 S-10 Blazer

Quality control is missing on this part. The first one I got was defective. All lights worked as expected, however, despite the lack of turn signals or hazard lights, you could still hear the turn signal click. There are three triangular metal contact plates that float on springs that press them firmly against the metal rails inside the pillar. However, when I compared the bottom contact plate to the OEM, it didn't extend that far and barely moved forward/backward. The second block worked better, but only after I bent the bottom contact plate a bit. Also, the device doesn't snap into place as tightly as the OEM did. You can easily remove it by just pulling the switch up with your fingers. Obviously, the little plastic bracket is smaller than the original manufacturer's, so it's a lot easier to remove. On the plus side, if this part fails again I can easily replace it without removing the steering column covers. One more note, although all the online parts manuals and the Dorman website say this will NOT work with an S-10 or S pickup. Style -10 (Blazer, Jimmy, Bravada, Sonoma etc.) thru 1998 is completely fake . It's an exact replacement for my 1995 blazer, except the plastic button is all black and not the translucent red of the original. FWIW, RockAuto offers another brand that is slightly more expensive.
