Ideal for the bike (see photo), easy and quick left/right one-handed access while riding (practice required!). Note; The long bottom strap in the photo, threaded through the front wheel, keeps my tire straight when the bike is stowed on the rack as shown. This strap is not part of the bag attachment. There is a smaller zippered pocket on the right/right side for small items, such as wallet, small phone, etc., and a flexible inner pocket (open at the top) on the left/right side, which can hold a CC card or small items . The bag (even with important items inside) is narrow enough not to get on your knees while driving (slim design). Can't comment on waterproofing as I haven't had it in the rain, but most materials like this bag don't typically absorb water unless submerged in water.
